Inside the One Million Coders Programme.

BY ADWOA MENSAH · APRIL 2026 · 8 MIN READ

How Ghana is positioning itself to lead Africa's AI transition — and why the next decade belongs to public-sector pragmatists.

This is a placeholder article body. The Journal is where we publish the working notes of an academy in motion — from policy responses to curriculum decisions, cohort dispatches, and the occasional manifesto.

We write them because the work of training a generation of Ghanaians in AI fluency is too important to do quietly. We want others — institutions, founders, governments — to see exactly how we do it, and to copy what works.

The first principle.

If you can teach 10 people something well, you can teach 10,000 people something good. The hard part is not the curriculum, but the cohort design — the social architecture that makes a learner show up on Tuesday at 7pm even when they're tired.

That's what we're building. That's what we'll keep writing about.
